Head-on Crash Takes Driver’s Life and Injures Truck Driver

An article on NOLA.com tells about a 31-year old Ponchatoula woman killed in a head-on crash. Danielle Marie Kulick was driving her Mazda Mz3 eastbound on Louisiana 22 at the Tangipahoa River at 9:30 am, September 21. She swerved in the westbound lane when a Kenworth-Straight Truck hit her. Kulick was pronounced dead at the scene and police are investigating why she crossed the center line.
The truck driver was 48-year old Kevin Wayne Pete of Darrow. He was taken to North Oaks Hospital in Hammond. Pete was treated for minor injuries. The police reported that Kulick was not wearing a seat belt and Pete was. Though they do not suspect driver impairment, blood samples were taken from both parties involved.
